FasterSkierFebruary 12, 2010

Rossignol’s X-ium Skate package (including ski, boot, binding and Oneway pole) is all new and is the lightest weight race package Rossignol has ever offered. The weight of ski, boot and binding package has decreased by 210 grams.

The X-ium ski is slightly shorter for better maneuverability and lighter weight. The new X-ium boot has a new cover lace that is seamless, a new lace system, and new heel hold all resulting in better envelopment of the foot and weight reduction. The new Xcelerator binding has a new flexbits system, new closure system and unnecessary material has been removed to decrease the weight.

The Rossignol Team has had an amazing year racing on the new X-ium Package. Rossignol has 52 athletes, including 7 Americans, competing in the Winter Games in the Cross Country and Biathlon events. The season highlights so far include Andrew Johnson’s first in the Noquemanon, Zack Simons win in the Boulder Mountain Tour, Josh Smullin’s second at City of Lake Loppet, and Chris Cook is in a close second overall in the Super Tour.

Andrew Johnson kept the tempo high for Zack the last few kms and gave him a nice leadout helping him to the win.

The decreased weight and new technology in the X-ium Package make a huge difference for our Rossignol Racers and any technical skier allowing them to ski faster and farther then ever before.
