World Masters Update from Falun

Excellent conditions and exciting racing continue at the Masters World Cup in Falun, Sweden. Cold temperatures have persisted throughout the week, with morning lows near O F. Monday morning the stadium billboard displayed -24 C, resulting in a 1 hour delay. While the Italian and Russian contingents have taken the lion’s share of medals, U.S. skiers have captured a number of medals, including;

M5 30km FS – Milan Baic – Bronze

F7 10k CL – Trina Hosmer – Gold

M8 10k FS – Del Pletcher – Silver

M1 45k cl – Jan Spurkland – Silver

Relays

F1 – Inge Scheve, Trina Hosmer, Karen Oppenheimer, Megan Spurkland – Bronze

M1 – Jan Spurkland, JD Downing, Dan Packman, Dennis Feeney – Bronze

M5 – Milan Baic, Randy Bladel, Del Pletcher, Ciff Onthank – Bronze

Racing concludes Friday with the distance freestyle events.
