APUNSC skiers Lars Flora and Taz Mannix both won their respective divisions in the 4th rollerski race of the summer in Anchorage on Saturday August 4th. Cloudy and drizzly weather dominated the skies, but not enough to keep 42 hardy souls from conquering the classical mass start race which ends with a brutal 2 mile uphill finish on Potter Valley Road in south Anchorage. Lars beat out James Southam, while Max Treinen outsprinted his younger brother Lex for 3rd and 4th place honors.
Taz was in a much closer finish beating out Paige Brady (2nd) and Laura Valaas (3rd).
The fifth and final Anchorage rollerski race will be held in mid Sept out at the Kincaid Park Chalet. The Anchorage Municipal Rollerski races are organized by the Municipality of Anchorage and with the cooperation of local club teams co-sponsoring the races and volunteering the man-power needed to put on these races.
