A new cross-country ski area, complete with two kilometers of lighted trails is set to open this winter in western Montana. The Homestake Lodge is located beneath the Continental Divide just three miles from Interstate-90 and 15 minutes from Butte, Montana.
The 15-20 kilometer trail system will be groomed by Pisten Bulley and snowmobile. Certain “adventure” trails have been designed in an old-school fashion. Narrow (4'-6' wide), twisting and turning through the woods, these trails will be classic only. Additionally, ungroomed trails will provide a backcountry experience and separate doggy trails allow for canine companions.
The lodge will be completed by next spring, but a 24' yurt will provide shelter for this season.
