This race is run in a similar format to the 24 Hour mountain bike races. Soloists or relay teams complete as many laps as possible in 6, 12, or 24 hours. The course is a rolling 9 km loop with a feed station and bonfire at the start/finish.
This is a freestyle race, though there will be tracks laid and many competitors in the past have done a few laps classic when the tracks are faster.
Relay teams can be composed of 2-8 people.
The Rendezvous Ski Trails are just 100 yards from several hotels and restaurants in West Yellowstone and there is also a warming hut at the start/finish.
Toko will have a wax tech at the event to assist racers with waxing for the changing conditions, especially the soloists.
Course records stand at 326km for the solo 24 Hour set by Snorri Einarsson in 2007 and 395km for the team 24 Hour set by the Big Sky Trio also in 2007.
A portion of the proceeds go to Manaia Youth Programs, West Yellowstone Ski Education Foundation and the West Yellowstone Food Bank.
