Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association Seeks Nordic Skiing Media Intern

The Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA), the east’s top-tier NCAA Division I Skiing conference, seeks a Media Intern to create and publish content to the EISA blog and social media feeds following each of the season’s Nordic Skiing races.

The Media Intern is required to attend all conference races, as well as captain’s meetings the evening prior to each race: There are two days of racing each weekend, spread over seven weeks. Races take place throughout New England in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, and western Massachusetts.

Typical weekend schedule:

Friday: Men’s and Women’s Nordic Race (Classic, Sprint or Free)

Saturday: Men’s and Women’s Nordic Race (Classic, Sprint or Free)

The Media Intern is also expected to publish content following the NCAA Championships (held in Bozeman, MT), but will not be required to attend to those races.

Responsibilities:

Produce content (race narrative and results) for four nordic ski races each weekend, writing headlines, and selecting complementary photos. Publish content to EISA blog (eisaskiing.org) and social media feeds by the end of each race day.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a part-time position with a duration of 2.5 months.

Compensation:

The Media Intern will receive a stipend of $3,875 to cover wages, food, and lodging. (Lodging procurement will be the responsibility of the Media Intern.) Ski lift tickets will be provided for each day of racing.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in journalism or related field, or relevant work experience.

Demonstrated interest in nordic ski racing.

Demonstrated interest in packaging content for a digital audience, editing written content for publication, and headline writing for web.
