RUMFORD, Maine – Swirling around the Black Mountain venue was news that Justin Freeman was done. After 16 consecutive U.S. Cross Country Championships, including his recent appearance at this year’s nationals, the 35-year-old Olympian, national champion and brother of current U.S. Ski Team veteran, Kris, wouldn’t be back. Cross Country Canada is pleased to announce that it has awarded the 2011 Haywood Ski Nationals to the Canmore Nordic Cross Country Ski Club. The event will take place at the Canmore Nordic Centre in Mid-March of 2011. This will be one of the biggest events the Canmore Nordic club has ever hosted. Rebecca Dussault (Saab Salomon Factory Team) skied to a 58 second win over Brooke Gosling in women’s 30km Mass Start at Canadian Nationals.  Ekaterina Vinogradova was third and Shayla Swanson fourth. In the men’s 50km, Gord Jewett edged Mike Sinnott (Saab Salomon Factory Team) by 2.9 seconds.  Noah Hoffman was just 6.5 seconds back in third, and Graham Nishikawa +7.7 in fourth.
