Woods, Hanneman, Diggins complete individual title sweep at Junior Olympics

Going into the third day of Junior Olympic competition, Friday’s skate individual start, four athletes had a chance to sweep all individual events: Hamish McEwen (Cambridge Sports Union) in J2 boys, Marion Woods (Alaska Winter Stars) in J2 girls, Logan Hanneman (FAST) in J1 boys, and Jessie Diggins (CXC) in OJ girls. Junior Nationals Racing Kicks off with Monday’s Sprints

Minneapolis Marriott City Center and share shuttle buses to the course, 15 minutes away, for training and racing each day. Today was the third day of racing here in Presque Isle, Maine, and the final day of individual competition: the distance skate races. The J2, J1 and OJ women as well as the J2 boys raced 5k, while the J1/OJ men raced 10k. Today was the second day of racing here in Presque Isle and was the first day of distance, with the J2’s skiing classic 5ks, while the J1/OJ women and men skied 10k and 15ks.
