Friday Rundown: West Yellowstone FIS Racing; Bozeman Canceled

The first official cross-country ski races of the season West Yellowstone Ski Festival, which has been known to attract 3,500 skiers and has been an early season tradition for more than 30 years. Katharine Ogden, another U.S. Ski Team (USST) D-team member who trains with SMS, took the win. After rebounding from separate scary incidents, APU's Scott Patterson and Eric Packer showed their desire to be back on top of the SuperTour, placing first and third in Sunday's 15 k classic mass start in Sun Valley. Patterson won by more than 30 seconds and CU's Mads Strøm edged Packer for second.

Blackhorse-von Jess Outlasts CU Skiers to Win SuperTour Sprint in West Yellowstone

Watching her husband in the West Yellowstone SuperTour 15 k skate on Saturday, Caitlin Gregg (Madshus/Team Gregg) had a sense it was going to be another good day. Brian Gregg placed second and Caitlin went on to win the women's 10 k individual race by more than a minute and 20 seconds. “It's incredible,” she said. “It’s so fun when this stuff happens.”
