Weaver, Hanasova Win Great Race

FasterSkierMarch 4, 2003

The Great SkI Race was run on Sunday March 3 from Tahoe XC ski area to Truckee, California. The race is very popular for its fun course, laid back atmosphere, and great post-race party.

Atomic's Patrick Weaver skied away from the pack and had the downhills all to himself as he took the win by 50 seconds over Rossignol's Jon Engen and Colin Mahood.

In the women's race the Factory Team's Katerina Hanasova was the winner, ahead of Suzanne King (Atomic). Third place was Muffy Ritz.

One race note: A skier reported the loss of their Atomic skis from the finish area of The Great Ski Race. Members of TNSAR found a different pair of Atomic skis left behind at the finish after all the racers had left, which could mean that someone left with the wrong pair of Atomic skis. If this person could contact Randall Osterhuber at 530 546-4491 so that we can return each set of skis to the rightful owners, that would be appreciated. Thank you.
