 — Italy's Pietro Piller Cottrer edged Norway's Tore Ruud Hofstad by four seconds Saturday in a 15-km freestyle race as the cross country World Cup season resumed. Kris Freeman (Andover, NH) tied for 28th and Carl Swenson (Boulder, CO) 60th in the field of 89. Lars Flora (Anchorage, Alaska) placed 84th. Flora did not travel to Europe with the US Team. He has been living in Norway since August and the US Ski Team decided to allow him to use one of their start positions based on his results in past season (2002 Olympics and 2003 World Championships).<P></p>
<p>Cottrer's winning time in the second win of his career was 32:59.0 with Hofstad timed in 33:03.0; German Axel Teichmann was third. Freeman's time was 34:05.9 and Swenson finished in 35:00.8.<P><br />
