Justin Wadsworth and US Ski Team’s Andrew Johnson broke away from the rest of the field right from the start of the 50 km marathon race at Royal Gorge, California.
 weather and blazing sun rapidly warmed up the snow and caused soft conditions as the race went on. The two-week old now stayed relatively fast, but good structure and heavy rills were the key elements of fast skis.</p>
<p>Wadsworth and Johnson sprinted side by side (.3 seconds separation) for the victory and the one-ounce of gold awarded to the winner. Patrick Weaver similarly nipped Scott Loomis for the third place, and secured the overall season win of the Americal Ski Marathon (ASM) series. “Forever young†John Engen rounded out the top-5 in the men’s Goldrush division.</p>
<p>Fasterskier’s own John Aalberg dodged the fastest Goldrush skiers, and won the two-lap 30 km Silverrush and the ounce of silver by over 7 minutes – with old College (mid 80’s) competitor Vesa Suomalainen in second place.<br />
