Justin Wadsworth and US Ski Team’s Andrew Johnson broke away from the rest of the field right from the start of the 50 km marathon race at Royal Gorge, California.

Beth Reid, former Speed-Skating Champion, won the women's Silverrush, but all but 3 of the men.
Brooke Bauman of Sun Valley easily won the women’s Goldrush division (18th overall), with Katrina Smigun in 2nd and Sigrid Aas in 3rd.

The one-lap bronze rush, the Junior rush and several youth activities on Saturday rounded out a great weekend in sunny California. Royal Gorge donated all the race proceeds to the Far West Nordic Association, whose juniors are already looking ahead to next year’s Junior Olympics “across the street” from Royal Gorge at Auburn Ski Club.
