FasterSkier.com Intern

Are you a post-college racer looking for supplemental income to support your ski career? Are you a college racer looking for a part-time job? This is a job for you. FasterSkier.com is looking for an Intern to help with either writing and posting articles and/or help with website design, maintenance and expansion. The ideal candidate would be a ski racer looking to pursue a career in either journalism or computer programming who wants to get some real-world experience while also enjoying the cross-country skiing lifestyle. This position would require 1-2 hours of work per day during the winter season, and a few hours each week during the summer. Intern can be based anywhere, and will work closely with Cory Smith, FasterSkier.com's editor and webmaster, via email and phone. Pay for this position will be a monthly stipend, amount to be based on time commitment.

Writing articles
Tracking down and posting results
Interviewing Skiers and Coaches
Taking photographs
Adding new features to the FasterSkier website

Administering the FasterSkier scripts and database

Desired skills include (not all are required – just some combination of the following):

Additional skills that would be handy:

Contributing Authors

We are looking for approximately 5 skiers who enjoy writing to contribute regularly to FasterSkier.com. Ideal candidates would write about training escapades, races they attend, and anything else skiing-related. You don't have to be an elite racer or expert coach, all you need is a love for cross-country skiing and a willingness to share your experiences. This is a paid position based on the number of articles contributed (minimum one per week average during the winter). You won't get rich doing this, but it will be a 'rich' experience. A great way for Senior skiers, Master skiers and coaches to make a few extra bucks doing something they enjoy!

Ideal Candidates would have the following (though all are not required):
Good writing skills
A love for cross-country skiing
A personal computer
A digital camera which they take to races
The desire to write about races they attend and other skiing experiences
