by Fredrik Aukland was an eye opener for many – double poling has actually changed and it’s time to think and train differently!
The next two articles were details about how the Moroccans and Kenyan runners train. Although running is different than skiing, the endurance requirements are the same – Vo2Max, priority and efficiency in training, and training methods. We think you should learn from this as well. Many agreed with us.

We are in the upcoming June 20th issue taking a look at modern endurance training. FasterSkier.com has published many articles covering the Norwegian women’s team’s controversial training methods. Both Torbjorn Karlsen and John Aalberg’s personal coaching service (www.torbjornsport.com/tbksports/personalcoaching.html) as well as US Ski Team’s 2004/05 training philosophy are using elements and ideas from the same research data as the Norwegian women’s team is using. We met with the researchers behind this “new” concept and found it natural to cover the fundamental ideas behind the concept in the upcoming second issue.
The second article in the June issue is an in-dept look at speed and sprint training. John Aalberg went to the International Ski Federation’s Sprint symposium in Molde, Norway last year, and will summarize the discussions. We are also adding a number of our own ideas – great knowledge to have if you want to be on top of speed and sprint training, as well as gaining ideas for how to train for sprint events and mass start races of any length.
