Norwegian national team skiers Kine Beate Bjornas and Odd-Bjorn Hjelmeset won the first annual Sognefjellet bike and ski duathlon last weekend.
A good year for Hjelmeset: World Championship relay gold and 50-K bronze medal. Second in the Norwegian 50-k championship and finally Sognefjellet duathlon Champion!

The total race length was 40-kilometers and 65 athletes participated.</p><p>Tom Larsen had a 5 minutes and 15 seconds lead to Hjelmeset after the bike leg, but Odd-Bjorn came back in the skiing portion and beat Larsen by 2 seconds in the sprint.</p><p>The women’s race was dominated by Kine Beate Bjornaas which just a few days earlier was second to Bjorgen in a rollerski sprint race.</p><p>Sognefjellet reports that they should have good skiing until August 15</p><p><BR><center><img src=)
