— Swedish national team skier Mathias Fredriksson has been tired since August and has not trained as normal. He has started to come around, but we agreed that it would be better for him to stay at home and train at sea level, than be training at high altitude said Swedish national team coach Inge Braaten to skidsport.com Monday afternoon.

Braaten also said that the rumor that Mathias Fredriksson had contracted the Twar virus is not true.

— We have ruled out that. His problem is not Twar. You are as an elite skier like Mathias supposed to push your limits in training all the time, and it’s easy to tip over and get tired, says Braaten.

Per Elofsson still has problems handling normal training dosages and has again chosen to stay home.

– It makes more sense for Per to train at home than training with us at 2000 meter as we are doing at the moment, says Braaten.

The rest of the Swedish team will be training in the Italian Alps for the rest of the month.
