– Moisture inside the house is not good for you. It did at least not look good when we opened the roof. There was no ventilation and we discovered lots of moisture build-up as a result of this. It’s absolutely possible that this has been the reason that I have been sick so often, says Hjelmeset.

– Lack of ventilation, caused condense and the entire insulation had absorbed lots of moisture. It was completely black, explains Hjelmeset who after the repair has noted that the moisture problems inside the house are gone.

– I was away all July, but spent most of June and August at home and had no problems.

He is now hoping that it will continue like this and that his frequent illness problems are gone for good. He doesn’t feel completely safe, and has for that reason trained more than in the past the last couple months.

– I have trained more this summer than in the past. I don’t know if I will get any better, but it’s good to have something to fall back on if I get sick this fall, says the skier that’s counting on that the roof change will stop the sickness problems for both him and his family.

– I hope and believe that. I’m now looking forward to getting on snow, says Hjelmeset.

He is leaving for an altitude training camp in Stelvio with the rest of the Norwegian elite team on Tuesday.
