Junior World Champion Petter Northug is traveling to his first ever on-snow altitude camp on October 10. He will be training with the Norwegian men’s team.
– I’m hoping to do some skiing with the men’s team, and to get some guidance, says Northug.
Northug is in his last season as a junior skier and is traveling to Val Senales on October 10, on the same day as the Norwegian men’s team.
– My training plan called for an on-snow camp now, and it was good to find someone to travel with, says Northug.
The men’s coach, Krister Sorgaard confirms that he will be keeping an eye on Northug and the nineteen year-old is of course looking forward to the camp.
— This will be my first altitude camp, and it’s going to be nice to get down there. I have heard that it’s very nice. I’m looking forward to get on snow again, says Northug.
He is aiming for skiing well again at Junior Worlds this winter and hopes to see what he can do in World Cup races as well.
— But I have never been able to hit a peak as early as late January/early February, says Northug.
