Swedish national team skier Jenny Olsson is back on the ski tracks after breast cancer surgery.
– Some days have been very tough. The day I was being told was very difficult. On other days I enjoy life a great deal. I felt like on cloud nine when I was told that I was cancer fee again, says Jenny Olsson.

Jenny has for many years been one of Swedish cross country skiing's big talents and hopes. Her carrier highlight so far was 5th place in the mass-start 15-kilometer race at the 2003 Worlds in Val de Fiemme. She visited a doctor in May this spring when she discovered a lump in one breast. Here are her words:

– I was diagnosed with breast cancer (Ductal cancer in situ) on August 15, following a number of tests and one tumor surgery on my right breast earlier this summer. Ductal cancer in situ is a pre-level of cancer, but still so serious that I three days later was told to have breast surgery to prevent spreading and growth. I was given a clean bill of health eleven days later, on the 29th of the same month. I won’t need any post treatments. I’m now short one breast, but am many experiences richer. It has been a psychological tough period in my life, but I’m feeling good today and am now skiing in Val Senales, Italy. My heart is now beating for cross country skiing again, but I have no idea what that means for the future.
