B-finale and sixth place was an uncommon result for Marit. She is heading home to recharge the batteries on Monday.
(Editor’s note: this had been Bjorgen’s plan all along regardless of results in the pursuit and sprint).

She is physically and mentally tired. She is heading home to do what she did ahead of last season’s Worlds, said her coach Svein Tore Samdal.

Bjorgen struggled to win on Saturday, but was not able to follow up on Sunday.

– I’m tired and my body is not “with meâ€. I’m going to rest and training, and aim for getting back to how I felt ahead of the Kuusamo races. I was most disappointed that my body didn’t function 100%, said Bjorgen.

– Maybe it’s good that this happened. It shows that even Marit isn’t a machine, said coach Samdal

– This is my first World Cup victory, and it’s very special to win in front of the home crowd in Canada. It’s a fantastic feeling. I’m starting to get in shape. It’s hopefully not my last victory, said Scott.
