The doping convicted polish skier Justyna Kowalczyk crushed most of the Russian women's national team skiers in a race on Friday December 23.

This signals that Kowalczyk will be a hot challenger for Marit Bjorgen and the other female favorites at the upcoming Olympics in Torino.

Justyna Kowalczyk was first shut out of all competitions for two years following a doping violation during a race on January 23, 2005. This was appealed and reduced to one year and then reduced again by CAS to the beginning of December this year.
