Norwegian skier Ine Wigernaes was told to watch the Canadian World Cup races from home, despite having a reserved spot in all pre Christmas World Cup races. – It’s a reasonable decision, says Wigernaes.

Wigernaes said it was fine to be kicked off the team for the Canadian World Cup races following a 50th and a 55th place in last Weekend’s World Cup races in Kuusamo. (Her reserved spot was from winning last season’s Scandinavian Cup)
– It didn’t go well for me. I was simply skiing slowly last weekend, says Wigernaes.
She feels however that she only needs to make small adjustments to get in shape.
– I will train as normal and won’t make big adjustments. I’m now aiming to do well in Norway Cup and Scandinavian Cup.
Altitude training in Norway
She is relaxed about missing altitude training in Canada.
– I live and train between 1000 and 1300 meter in Norway.
She doesn’t believe it will be much difference between the altitude affect from that and what the Norwegian team will have in Canada where they are currently living at 1609 meter.
She is still hoping to get in shape and qualify for the Olympics.
– I’ll race one race at the time and we’ll see when the final Olympic qualification race is over, says Wigernaes.
