It was a day of heavy snowfall and tactical pack racing, and when all was said and done, the man formerly known as Streetfighter had won the Boulder Mountain Tour.
Zack Simons (Team FSx), now living in Ketchum, ID, won a mad dash for the line by 13 skiers in the lead pack. Simons just edged out Casey Ward (Alpina/Madshus) and Patrick Weaver (Subaru Factory Team). The heavy snowfall made it difficult for any skiers to break away, and the large pack stayed together right until the end.
It was a sprint finish in the women's race as well as Brooke Hovey (Rossignol) earned a narrow victory over Kate Whitcomb (FSx), Kristina Strandberg (Subaru Factory team), Martina Stursova and Kate Pearson (both Rossignol).
