The Coastal Nordic Ski Club (CNSC), a nonprofit organization located in southern Maine, is seeking a Head Coach for the Maine Coast Nordic Ski Team. MCN currently has over 30 athletes representing several southern Maine towns and school systems which have been training on a regular basis throughout this summer under the previous MCN coach, Paul Stone, who recently was named the Head Coach of the University of Vermont Ski Team.

The Maine Coast Nordic (MCN) Ski Team was formed in 2004 as a vehicle to support and encourage aspiring youth skiers in Southern Maine with year-round coaching and training opportunities supplemental to existing school programs. The MCN Team also provides coaching support to athletes at NENSA Junior Olympic Qualifier events and at periodic training camps. This past year the MCN Team had great success with several athletes qualifying for the Maine J2 Championships team, the Eastern High School Championships and the Junior Olympics. Additional information on the team can be obtained at www.coastalnordic.org. Previous MCN coaches have been named as NENSA Junior Olympic Team coaches.

The Head Coach will oversee a program designed to provide coaching for the team from September 15th through the end of March. The salary for this part-time position is $15,000 to $19,000, depending on experience. The compensation for the current 2006-2007 program will be pro-rated for the balance of the year through March 2007. CNSC also provides a laptop computer and video camera for the MCN head-coach.

Please send a letter of interest and resume by September 15th to Coastal Nordic Ski Club, P.O. Box 493, Cumberland, Maine 04021 or via email/phone ( pjhall@mactec.com , 207-829-9320).
