FasterSkier.com Is Looking For Contributors

FasterSkierSeptember 29, 2006

FasterSkier.com is looking for part-time correspondents to contribute to the website throughout the winter season. The job can be customized depending on your availability, interests, and expertise.

Pay will depend on level of commitment and expertise. Nobody is going to get rich working for FasterSkier.com, but these jobs can provide a little extra income for working on something that really interests you. It could also mean additional exposure for you (if you are an athlete) and/or your program (if you are a coach).

Ideal candidates should have good writing skills, as well as access to a computer and digital camera. Additional experience such as video recording & editing, web programming, or advertising is a big plus.

If this interests you, send an email to info@fasterskier.com . Tell us about your skiing experience, education, and job history. Also let us know what you are interested in doing for FasterSkier.com, and how much time you would like to spend doing it. Applications must be received by October 15th.

The positions can be customized to suit you, but here are a few examples that would work well:

• An elite-level athlete or coach who is traveling to major races (such as SuperTour and Ski Marathons) could contribute Race Preview articles from the venues, as well as Race Reports after the event is over. This would be an excellent way for a traveling skier to earn a little extra money while on the road. We are also in need of a coach (or other non-racer) who can regularly send us photos or videos from these major events.

• A coach could write a reoccurring column on training, technique, or other aspect of ski racing.

• Someone who enjoys talking with other skiers could conduct interviews with top skiers and coaches (we can provide a list of interview candidates).

• Anyone who enjoys following World Cup races live, either online or through a Eurosport feed, could write World Cup race reports during and immediately after the races. Get paid to follow the World Cup coverage you were going to watch anyway!

• A good writer could commit to write an article a week, on either a topic of their choosing or a subject assigned by us.

• Someone who has decent HTML skills could help 'behind the scenes' by posting articles.

These are just suggestions. If you have an idea of how you could help, let us know. As you can see, most of these require only a few hours of work each week. We know that everyone is busy, which is why these positions are designed to be very flexible.

We also remind you that we always welcome submissions of articles and/or photos from all our readers. That's what makes FasterSkier.com such a great gathering place for the ski community.
