German Axel Teichman is back in great shape. He showed that in the annual fall test in Oberhof.

Axel Teichman had a tough season last year after winning the overall World Cup in 2004-2005. This summer he has done some of his training in a special-made “wheelchair” due to leg surgery.

But he showed this weekend that he is on his way to return to good ol' top-shape by winning the last rollerski competition during the German’s annual fall test weekend in Oberhof. He was 12 seconds ahead of Jens Filbrich in a 15-k freestyle rollerski time-trial.

The overall winner was Lukas Bauer of the Czech Republic. He had the best overall time when you combine the running and the rollerski test.

Bauer was 50 seconds ahead (combined time) of Tobias Angerer. Jens Filbrich was third. Axel Teichman did not participate in the running event which Bauer won by a big margin.

Claudia Kunzel won the combined women’s test ahead of Steffi Böhler. Viola Bauer was third. Evi Sachenbacher did not participate due to a cold.
