An injured and frustrated Frode Estil has to stay home while the rest of the Norwegian team is preparing for the seasonopener in Val Senales, Italy.
– The 34-year old is still struggling with an infection that started a month ago with an innocent small cut in a finger on his left hand. The Olympic and World Champion is now very concerned about the outlook for the upcoming season.
– I have to start a new round with antibiotics if this one that I’m on now doesn’t take care of the problem. The bacteria are very hard to get rid of when they attack a finger joint. I have to give it time, but I would have like to use my poles a little at this point. I feel that I’m not able to do what I’m supposed to, says Estil.
He has as a result of the injury decided to drop the altitude camp in Italy.
