Marit Bjrgen finished as she started the season and won Saturday’s World Cup pursuit in Falun. And then it was hard to hold back the tears. Therese Johaug pushed the pace that broke up the lead-pack and could celebrate with a 3rd place.
Marit Bjrgen showed a lot more energy than what we have seen the last couple months. And the â€energy bunny,” Therese Johaug did a great job in pushing the pace.
Thirteen (13) racers were together in the lead-pack in the transition area after the classic portion of the race. But that was quickly broken up.
Katerina Neumannova, Bjorgen, and Johaug cranked up the pace up the â€killerhillâ€. And no one was with these three skiers on top of the 700 meter long uphill. It was now set for a long stadium sprint for the victory.
Johaug tried first, but it wasn’t good enough against the more experienced competitors. When Bjorgen made her move no one could follow.
