Late snow in Europe. After a dismal winter, winter finally arrived in parts of Europe – just in time for spring. Here is another photo-update from Meiko Hoemke of Germany:
Skiing in Europe just doesn't get boring… snow hit again last night. Oh yea, es ist wunderbar! After being done with my two week block at school in Zurich I stopped on my way home at the Flumsberg Alm in Switzerland close to Luxemburg. The altitude is round about 1600 meters, so like the Soldier Hollow Olympic venue in Heber, Utah. Conditions were warm at 35-40F. But it has been icy before the snow came last night so it was actually really good skiing today. Perfect skate and classic tracks were set. The 12k course winds up to another Alm. The course makes a loop at the top and drops down again. I actually did that loop multiple times for almost 3 hours. It was just fun and great spring skiing!
Again best part of the day hanging out at a so called Almhuette having Apfelstrudel again. You can't pass on a good Swiss treat after a good ski day.
Life with skis is great!
