When learning to rollerski, learn to snowplow and stop first.
Go slow from the top of the downhill on rollerskis – it's hard to slow down when you have reached a high speed. Stand up and make yourself as big as possible to increase wind resistance on top of the hill. Take your skis off and walk down hills that you are not familiar with or if you feel insecure or uncertain. Don't take unnecessary chances.
 and how to slow down going down hills. Practice the snowplow-stop first on flats and in gradual down hills. Front wheels wide apart, good knee bend, center of gravity further back than on snow, push with your feet to the side against the edge of the wheels.</p>
