Rollerski Criterium Held In Downtown Anchorage

The first of five summer rollerski races in Anchorage, Alaska was held on Sunday around a park in downtown. Amy Glen and Justin Singleton were the winners.

Proving that a brush with death is no reason to shrink away from a sport, 15-year-old Amy Glen raced to victory in the opener of a five-race Anchorage rollerski series.

In the men’s race, Chugiak High graduate and Northern Michigan University skier Justin Singleton raced to victory in the first rollerski race he’s ever entered. “These are fun,” he said, panting at the finish line along the Delaney Park Strip as the music of the Bearfoot bluegrass band drifted from a nearby stage.
