Upates from the FIS Cross Country Committee Meeting – “Lucky Loser” rule to apply in Team Sprints

Following is a short summary of key points from the FIS Spring meetings in Portoroz, Slovenia.

· In all FIS competitions, coaches must remain stationary while feeding their athletes (no running).

· FIS points will now be awarded in FIS Marathon Cup competitions.

· The test of the rule allowing skis to be changed inside of stadium pit boxes during distance competitions will be extended through this season. During the distance races at the World Cup competitions in Ramsau and Holmenkollen, competitors will be allowed to change skis.

· A homologation seminar will be hosted in Vancouver, Sept. 12-14, 2007.

· In Team Sprint competitions (World Cup level), the “lucky loser” rule will be used, meaning that the four best teams from each semifinal plus the next three fastest teams will advance to the finals.
