Team USA selects five Durango cyclists for World Championships

Short of 20 years of age, Tad Elliott isn't short on experience.

Less than four months removed from representing his country at the Junior World Cross Country Ski Championships in Travisio, Italy, the 19-year-old Durango prodigy again will represent his country at the 2007 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Fort William, Scotland.

“So sweet,” said Elliott, a Durango High School alumnus. “I'm pretty lucky.”

“One year, two world championships – that's pretty impressive,” said Chad Cheeney, Elliott's coach and teammate at Durango DEVO, a junior mountain biking program. “He shows up to every practice and tries his best; he's a great role model for all the other kids.”
