Updated Job Posting: Westminster College looking for Men’s & Women’s Head Ski Coach

Westminster College invites applications for the position of Head Men’s and Women’s Alpine Ski Coach. The Head Coach will be responsible for implementing and launching a men’s and women’s Alpine Skiing program in Fall 2008. The men’s and women’s Alpine Ski program will compete as a Collegiate Club program in the Grand Teton Conference of the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association beginning Fall 2008.

The Men’s and Women’s Head Ski Coach reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for the administration and management of the AlpineSki programs, including supervising assistant, recruitment of qualified student athletes; academics, budgeting, scheduling; organizing and supervising practices and training; student-athlete welfare, race management; ordering and maintenance of equipment, compliance with institutional, conference and governing regulations; and travel arrangements. He or she will also be expected to work closely with other staff to promote intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the College and support the academic success of the athletes. In addition, must have excellent communication and public relations skills; exhibit the highest ethical standards, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment with high standards and goals.

A bachelor's degree (Physical Education or related field) and previous coaching experience at the collegiate level and/or professional experience. Other qualifications include knowledge of Alpine Skiing skills and strategy and the ability to effectively teach them; ability to motivate and effectively communicate with student-athletes; willingness and ability to actively recruit qualified students to Westminster College; strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, the ability to create an atmosphere conducive to learning, and a commitment to high academic and professional standards. This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position.
