Stanslav Rezac (CZE) out-sprinted Norweigan Anders Aukland to win the 2008 Norweigan Birkebeiner. Rezac posted a new record time on a beautiful sunny day, finishing in 2:24:33. The Mt. Itasca Biathlon Club is hosting the Masters US Nationals and North American Biathlon Championships. This is the first year the Masters are being recognized as a separate division and awarded national titles. Twenty-eight masters are in attendance spread out among six classes. A small but talented field assembled for the last race in the New England Nordic SKi Association Marathon Series in Sugraloaf, Maine. The tough 48K course was not enough to separate Olympian Pat Weaver (Factory Team) and David Chamberlain (MWSC/Atomic).
