Aro Wins 100 Mile Trail Run

Superior, Wisconsin native Matt Aro and Fischer/Swix – Midwest' (FSx) race team, was the overall winner of the 100 mile 'Headlands Hundred' trail run. The race was held August 9-10 on the
mountainous terrain just outside of San Francisco, CA. and had over 17000
feet of climbing. His winning time was 20 hours, 23 minutes setting a new
course record.

When he is not racing and training, Matt works as a scientist at the
National Resources Research Institute in Duluth, MN. The Master's Degree
program he is also pursuing limits his training time.

Matt has numerous top overall race results in the midwest XC ski racing
circuit. Past overall victories include the 24 Hours of Telemark ski race
and the 2006 Virginia Double Iron Ultra-Endurance Triathlon (4.8 mile swim,
224 mile bike, 56.4 mile run)
