In a move to stimulate attendance at the Cross Country Ski Areas Association’s annual Convention April 15-17 hosted by Whistler Olympic Park, BC, SkiTrax magazine is sponsoring a prize drawing on the final night of the convention during the closing banquet at Fairmont Chateau Whistler. A prize consisting of a 2-night lodging package at Fairmont Chateau Whistler with extras from Tourism Whistler will be awarded to one lucky registered convention delegate.

The CCSAA Annual Convention is an educational forum for resorts, clubs, parks, and trail systems across the continent engaged in cross country skiing and snowshoeing.  Special focus will be lessons to be learned for exisiting cross country centers from the newly constructed, world-class, 2010 Olympic veneue for Nordic sports. Speakers will address: sustainability and environmental stewardship; business strategies for the social web; growing the cross country market using guerilla marketing tactics; and modern grooming systems & grooming with less energy. In addition the convention features a trade expo andn on-snow component for testing grooming vehicles and ski equipment. Ski clinics for personal skill improvement are on the agenda as well.

An estimated one hundered professionals working at ski centers and parks are expected to attend the 3-day, 4-night convention. The registration package includes meals for the 3 day program. Day rates are also available. Lodging is at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler while the majority of presentations take place at Whistler Olympic Park.

Cross Country Ski Areas Association is a non-profit, membership trade association whose purpose is to promote cross country skiing and further the development of cross country ski areas. Membership is available to all facilities, public and private, in Canada and the United States that provide opportunties for cross country skiing.
