Well, it’s been a week since I had my knee surgery, but it definitely seemed a lot longer than that. I’m not used to spending this much time on the couch but I am quickly becoming a professional. I’m also becoming extremely proficient at maneuvering the electric shopping carts but I get lots of weird looks while I’m driving. It might be because I enjoy doing donuts and keep trying to pop-a-wheelie. Target just got new electric carts this week but they’re slower than the ones at Wal-Mart.
Everyday the knee is feeling significantly better than the day before. Things got much more comfortable today when I could finally stop wearing the TED hose all the time. Not only are they incredibly uncomfortable and a pain to take on and off but they also don’t help when it’s 80 degrees outside.
At the rate things are improving I should be off of pain killers by tomorrow afternoon which means I am moving in the right direction. It also means that I can have an adult beverage on Friday at the Twilight Criterium that will be going on downtown.
Below are a couple of photos that I took this evening. Things are healing pretty quickly. As soon as the holes heal up I can get in the pool and start deep water running again. It’s boring and I get strange glares from the lifeguards, but I can’t wait until I can get after it again.
