Direct sales model to lower prices on one of the world’s leading ski wax brands.
Boulder Nordic Sport (BNS) announced today an agreement with Holmenkol AG of Heimerdingen, Germany to distribute Holmenkol Nordic products in the USA. BNS takes over US distribution from UVEX Sports and will work alongside new Holmenkol distributors Sport Thoma (Alpine) and Montana (Backshop) to bring in the complete line of Holmenkol’s innovative ski waxes, tools and tuning products.
BNS will bring a direct-to-consumer business model to Holmenkol distribution in order to significantly reduce prices and increase the accessibility of Holmenkol to all segments of the industry from recreational skiers to top-level racers. BNS will support the Holmenkol brand with the high-level technical knowledge gained by BNS staff while working as technicians at the Olympics, World Cups and North American races as well as day-to-day shop operations.
BNS owner Nathan Schultz commented, “Holmenkol is one of the world leaders in ski wax, and we are very excited to be able to combine our knowledge and practical experience with a new business model and an established brand to deliver great products at drastically reduced cost to skiers. After meeting the Holmenkol staff and touring their facility, we believe Holmenkol’s technological innovation and focus on chemistry will continue to put their waxes at the front of the pack. Combine this with BNS’s ability to provide unprecedented knowledge, experience and service, and we expect to revolutionize the wax industry in the US.”
BNS will be distributing Holmenkol products directly via the web at www.bouldernordicsport.com, by phone (720.227.9400) and at retail locations. Special Team pricing and direct team sales will also be available to qualifying team orders.
Holmenkol was founded in 1922 and is the oldest wax company in the World. The company specializes in high-tech sports coatings and emphasizes performance and environmental responsibility. Holmenkol’s patented nano-technology unites the strengths of traditional chemical properties of ski wax with the benefits of arranging particles physically at the nano-level to produce significant performance increases. Holmenkol released it’s first nano-coated waxes in its fluorocarbon powders in 2008. Additional products using this process are in development.
