Extensive work on Stratton Nordic trails

FasterSkierSeptember 9, 2009

Stratton Mountain in conjunction with SMS Nordic is currently working on 6+km’s of Nordic trails less than 1 mile from campus at the Sun Bowl. The trails are part of a 12 km. system that has seen better days. They are now being carefully and properly repaired. The goal is to have them well drained and wide enough to drive a full sized snow cat on. This way we can use them with a foot of snow instead of waiting for the 3 foot dump. The overall plan for this fall is to have 6+km’s at the Sun Bowl, continue to expand the on campus SMS trails to 5km’s, build a campus sprint loop and open up a connector trail between the two systems. In future years we will keep improving the network so it will require less snow to open and widen the campus loops to make for ideal skating. This should eventually give us 20-25k right from campus.br /br /br /a onblur=”try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}” href=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xxDw1qNK1JA/SqhHESoIFUI/AAAAAAAAAY0/U7v3ramtZG8/s1600-h/P1010007.JPG”img style=”display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;” src=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xxDw1qNK1JA/SqhHESoIFUI/AAAAAAAAAY0/U7v3ramtZG8/s320/P1010007.JPG” border=”0″ alt=”” id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379627893939246402″ //abr /Start with this….br /br /a onblur=”try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}” href=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xxDw1qNK1JA/SqhI-XUQ6qI/AAAAAAAAAY8/4H3gN-1e5fo/s1600-h/P1010003.JPG”img style=”float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;” src=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xxDw1qNK1JA/SqhI-XUQ6qI/AAAAAAAAAY8/4H3gN-1e5fo/s320/P1010003.JPG” border=”0″ alt=”” id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379629991142156962″ //abr /br /Add this…br /br /a onblur=”try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}” href=”http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xxDw1qNK1JA/SqhJosw4_MI/AAAAAAAAAZM/PhZRwngaYn8/s1600-h/P1010004.JPG”img style=”float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;” src=”http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xxDw1qNK1JA/SqhJosw4_MI/AAAAAAAAAZM/PhZRwngaYn8/s320/P1010004.JPG” border=”0″ alt=”” id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379630718453873858″ //abr /br /You get this as the end product…Don’t worry that is not an endangered black wolf, it is just my dog Syd.br /br /a onblur=”try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}” href=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xxDw1qNK1JA/SqhJ623iDRI/AAAAAAAAAZU/nQv3j7hQPkY/s1600-h/P1010005.JPG”img style=”display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;” src=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xxDw1qNK1JA/SqhJ623iDRI/AAAAAAAAAZU/nQv3j7hQPkY/s320/P1010005.JPG” border=”0″ alt=”” id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379631030403730706″ //abr /br /Then this…br /br /Al and the the other guys are doing an awesome job out there!div class=”blogger-post-footer”img width=’1′ height=’1′ src=’https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4680416899705879324-1691219547353834291?l=smsxc.blogspot.com’//div
