Slipping, sliding and slogging

We traveled to Thetford today for the annual Woods Trail run. We have been jumping in some southern VT races with 40-50 racers. This one is a bit bigger 🙂 br /a onblur=”try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}” href=”http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_H2SCM3lmKm8/SsfnMMjVygI/AAAAAAAABLo/9Y21uMPC300/s1600-h/100_5095.JPG”img style=”display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;” src=”http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_H2SCM3lmKm8/SsfnMMjVygI/AAAAAAAABLo/9Y21uMPC300/s400/100_5095.JPG” border=”0″ alt=””id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388529675885988354″ //abr /Heather kicks back and relaxes while waiting for her heat.br /a onblur=”try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}” href=”http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_H2SCM3lmKm8/SsfmrTAavDI/AAAAAAAABLg/m-moln_BSgc/s1600-h/100_5099.JPG”img style=”display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;” src=”http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_H2SCM3lmKm8/SsfmrTAavDI/AAAAAAAABLg/m-moln_BSgc/s400/100_5099.JPG” border=”0″ alt=””id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388529110682876978″ //abr /Alum Megan Killigrew came up from Dartmouth to cheer on the team.br /a onblur=”try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}” href=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_H2SCM3lmKm8/SsfkdjT0UFI/AAAAAAAABLY/-tx2FYQJ_Hk/s1600-h/100_5100.JPG”img style=”display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;” src=”http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_H2SCM3lmKm8/SsfkdjT0UFI/AAAAAAAABLY/-tx2FYQJ_Hk/s400/100_5100.JPG” border=”0″ alt=””id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388526675517788242″ //abr /The coaches are all smiles at the tent. Thank goodness for the tent and thanks to Thetford Academy for running a first class event under adverse conditions. 2500 racers in 10 different heats, charging through the pouring rain. We had a 1:45 drive home after the race and all of the results were already on line when we returned, complete with heat times, integrated heat times and team scores. br /We were very happy with all of our runners efforts. It is great for us to go head to head with faster runners, hopefully we will improve with the experience. The boys placed in the 30’s as a team and the girls were 7th ( 3rd for VT). Not bad for a group of skiers! br /a onblur=”try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}” href=”http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_H2SCM3lmKm8/SsfkD2XdblI/AAAAAAAABLQ/QDdt9_XFnN8/s1600-h/100_5105.JPG”img style=”display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;” src=”http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_H2SCM3lmKm8/SsfkD2XdblI/AAAAAAAABLQ/QDdt9_XFnN8/s400/100_5105.JPG” border=”0″ alt=””id=”BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388526233956740690″ //abr /Here is our runner of the day, Tyler Foulkes, leading a pack at 4.5 km. He can’t wait to see them all in a double pole sprint!br /This was a character building day. Sometimes the conditions aren’t great, but…. guess what?.. they are the same for everyone and all you can do is to do your best. The team responded very well and it was a lot of fun.div class=”blogger-post-footer”img width=’1′ height=’1′ src=’https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4680416899705879324-2944663941683192954?l=smsxc.blogspot.com’//div
