XCFeedsSteinbock vs Mother Nature… C.Cook

Mother Nature continues to vex me.  I wait all year for snow and instead of providing a blizzard of epic proportions where I can wake up to a thick blanket of white stuff, I have to deal with m.n. putting just enough snow on the ground to make it impossible to ski on and absolutely treacherous to roller ski on.  Mother Nature continues to taunt me, until I admit I will go camping and enjoy it, which is not an option…  Also, with the Supertour  races rapidly approaching, Steinbock still has to fit in some gut wrenching  workouts in preparation.   AJ and I both decided running intervals was not going to be an option, we started our search for some pavement that wouldn’t kill us.  Our first option was Solider Hollow which rarely gets real snow, except for this morning naturally, next we called down to Salt Lake and decided this would be our best bet.   Needless to say we spent some quality time in the car, but we found our opportunity at immigration canyon.  There was still snow near the top of the pass but it was melting fast and as a sprinter I only need like 30s of pavement to go fast on, so it was a go.  AJ knocked out some nasty 3 reps of 15 minutes up the pass and I got my hammercrank on with 3 sets of 8 by 30 second repeats.   As we neared the end of the workout good ole m.n. found us and punished us with some sideways snow, which was nice.   Thank you but I still hate camping.  Sorry…
