World Junior/U23 Championships: Live From Germany

FasterSkierJanuary 25, 2010

With a strong US and Canadian contingent pick for the World Junior/U23 Championships in Germany, FasterSkier decided to send erstwhile International Ski Journalist Nat Herz to Hinterzarten for the week.

Nat is on site, reporting from the sprint today.  We will be using our Junior Racing blog to post updates as well as featuring articles on the main site.

Initial reports on the sprints are already up on the blog.

Nat already caught Petter Northug’s younger brother Thomas in the finish area after his win in the men’s sprint.  When asked if he was getting out of his brother’s shadow, Northug replied that his brother was already behind him – clarifying that he would have left Petter in the dust today.

The US got off to a good start in qualifying but was unable to advance out of the quarterfinals.  More to come.
