Sorry for not updating you earlier.span style=”” /span8 of our athletes spent the past week in Presque Isle Maine to compete at the Junior Olympics. We were all surprised by the wonderful weather and everyone got tan…some more than others. In general the team did amazing. GMVS was ranked 4supth/sup best high school in the nation!!!! Individually we had some amazing results. First off David is now a National Champion!!! He won the classic sprint on Monday. In the same race Hans placed 3suprd/sup!!! In the girls race Elena placed 4supth/sup and Kristin won the B Final to get 7supth/sup. Emily, Devlin and Heidi all made it to the heats. It was an amazing start into the week! o:p/o:p/span/p p class=”MsoNormal”span style=””Wednesday was the distance classic race that got changed from a mass start to an individual start. In her 5K Heidi had a great performance and placed 12supth/sup. In the 10K, Emily got 15supth/sup, and in the 15K David got 2supnd/sup!!!!!span style=”” /spano:p/o:p/span/p p class=”MsoNormal”span style=””Friday was the skate race. Heidi got 13supth/sup! She had a solid week of racing and did amazing especially since she was racing with some girls that were a year older than her. Emily got 13supth/sup fort J1’s and Kristin ended up 23suprd/sup. Congratulations to Kristin for having such an amazing race with compartment syndrome. She went through a lot of pain and we were all very excited to see that she did so well. The best result for the boys that day was David in 26supth/sup in the 10K. o:p/o:p/span/p p class=”MsoNormal”span style=””Saturday we finished the week with the relays. David’s team finished in 4supth/sup place for J1’s, Emily Stitt’s team placed 2nd!! Kristin rallied her team team to 5supth/sup place, as did Devlin’s J2 team. o:p/o:p/span/p p class=”MsoNormal”span style=””New England had the best week of racing EVER this past week. We won the Alaska Cup which is an award given to the region that has the most points and therefore the best racing all week. New England beat the all time record by 50 something points so there was lots of celebrating on Saturday night. We wrapped the week up with the dance and we all had a blast. After a short but sweet night we hopped in the van and headed back to Vermont. After 10 hours we got back to campus and I think we all headed to bed pretty early. Stay tuned for some more info from the athletes that went to Eastern High School Championships and the biathlon camp. o:p/o:p/span/p p class=”MsoNormal”span style=””A group of athletes is heading back up to Northern Maine for some the last races of the season. We also have Scott Patterson a skier from Alaska staying with the Sinclairs for the week and we will be heading to Fort Kent with him. o:p/o:p/span/p p class=”MsoNormal”span style=””Enjoy the sunshine! o:p/o:p/span/p p class=”MsoNormal”span style=””o:p /o:p/span/p !–EndFragment– div class=”blogger-post-footer”img width=’1′ height=’1′ src=’https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/1847564486460994594-6767456597285854597?l=gmvsxc.blogspot.com’ alt=” //div
