The 2010-2011 season officially begins today! In preparation for a new season, there is a lot of evaluation and refection of last season. Today I filled out a goal sheet, defining what steps I need to make along the way to achieve my goals. These goals range from small tasks, such as improving technique, to testing goals and ultimately performance goals. br /br /As part of my reflection on last year, I looked through my training log which details the training I have done every day this year. Through my analysis, I came up with some interesting statistics for the 2009-2010 training season. Here are a few:br /br /Total training hours: 674 hrsbr /Number of races: 28br /Number of hours skiing on snow: 167 hrsbr /Number of hours running: 245br /Number of hours roller skiing: 143br /Number of hours of strength: 67br /Month with highest volume: September: 70 hrsbr /First ski of the season: October 13br /Countries I raced in: U.S., Canada, France, Sloveniabr /Coldest race: -2F degrees, Bozeman, MTbr /Best results: 1st place: 20k Aspen Owl Creek Chasebr / 6th place: 5k classic, Slovenia OPA cup race br / 6th place: 30k skate, U.S. Nationals in Mainebr /br /It goes to show, there is a lot of time and effort that goes into training. My training log is a very helpful tool that allows me to analyze what I did the previous season and helps me determine what I need to change as I begin a new season. br /br /Let the new season begin!div class=”blogger-post-footer”img width=’1′ height=’1′ src=’https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5903545846797966075-3187940291837274893?l=in-the-arena-nicole.blogspot.com’ alt=” //div
