The Thomas Training Center On-Snow Summer Training Camp

The Thomas Training Center on Eagle Glacier is proud to offer additional glacier camps this summer on July 18-24 and August 8-18.   The camps will be open to individuals, as well as for club team use.

The Thomas Training Center (TTC) is one of North America’s premier summer on-snow training facilities.   It is located 45 minutes south of Anchorage just outside of the small resort town of Girdwood, Alaska on Eagle Glacier.

The TTC facility is capable of comfortably housing 20 people in bunkrooms and is equipped with a fully functional kitchen and bathrooms with running water and showers.  In addition, there is a drying room for boots and clothes, as well as a separate facility for ski waxing and storage.  There is also a TV for recovery time and technique video analysis.

The most important benefit that the TTC has to offer is the ability to ski a lot.  The Pisten Bully groomed tracks start 100 meters from the door, which gives athletes the ability to train twice a day.  The trails are groomed nightly, and additional classic tracks can be added in the afternoon if needed.  In addition, the glacier is located at an ideal training altitude of 5500ft (1675m) to allow for a good balance between altitude and intensity training.  The terrain used for training is varied to allow for good interval, distance and recovery training. The snow conditions are often similar to warm klister skiing you might find while racing abroad.  Because of this, glacier camps are a great time to get skis dialed in, as well as to refine soft track skiing.

The best way to train for skiing is to ski!  Take advantage of the world-class training opportunities at the Thomas Training Center on Eagle Glacier in Alaska.  Since space is limited and these camps fill quickly, be sure to reserve your spot right away!  To do so or to get more information please contact Casey Fagerquist by email at: caseyfagerquist@gmail.com
