/style br /div class=”MsoNormal”span style=”font-size: large;”ibMy Own Little Piece of Paradisenbsp; /bspan style=”font-size: small;”by Elena Luethi/span/i/spano:p/o:p/divdiv class=”MsoNormal”nbsp;o:p/o:pIt had been over two years since I had spent a summer at my house in Switzerland. Many things in town changed but the one thing that is still the same is the beauty of the landscape around me. On my first day back we went on a hike and climbed one of the highest peaks of the area. Looking down into the valley and at the village it seemed like I was staring at a postcard. Anyway, such views motivate me to run up hills or do L3 intervals that seem to take forever at Sugarbush but go by in a flash here. Hiking, biking and roller skiing are also activities that are on my daily plan and I often forget time and find myself going for an hour or so longer than I was supposed to. This is a pretty big contrast to the beginning of my summer where I spent two weeks in California and then two weeks in the North of Germany near the North Sea. I got to enjoy the quiet of the Swiss Alps for a while now and the next three weeks my knowledge of Swiss history and geography will be challenged since we will have company from US guests until the end of the year. Zermatt, Lake Geneva and other typically Swiss tourist attractions are on my plan for the next two weeks and I will be enjoying all of that before returning to New England. I hope everyone is having a great summer and that the weather in the US is as good as here. o:p/o:p/divdiv class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: center;”
