Mountain Bike WCH’s

Just back from a great weekend up at Mt. Sainte Anne, Quebec. The best of the best mountain bikers from all over the world were there competing in a variety of events from cross-country to downhill, 4-cross, and trials.

Willow Koerber on her way to a bronze medal!

A large group of us camped just minutes from the venue and spent the majority of our days, riding some killer single track, testing out some of the new gear for 2011, and of course cheering on the good ol’ Red, White, and Blue at just about every event!

Some of the highlights included watching Elite Women’s x-c racers Willow Koerber and Heather Irmiger finish 3rd and 6th, the 4-cross (kind of like skier-cross, but on bikes) finals at night under the lights, and a ride with Team Speicalized where the “Captain” and 1990 World Champion Ned Overand joined us along with 2008 World Champion Christoph Sauser of Switzerland, 3rd place in 2010 Burry Stander of South Africa, and U.S. National Champion Todd Wells also joined the ride.

This was a good break from our normal training regiment and a good re-charge for everyone as we head into our next training block. Now back home, fall is in the air, and it’s back to work!!
