So today was my first World Championships event, and I can say that I am very happy with my result. The conditions were very tough and I think I had a jump that I can be very proud of. I know I am capable of better jumps and I will continue to improve on that.
Going into the cross country, I knew that I was capable of a good race, and I knew I wasn’t going to be fighting for a medal, but with a hard pace and tough conditions, It was very possible to move up a lot of positions! I went out pretty hard, but I think I was able to hold the pace for most of the race. I passed many people the first 1 1/2 laps then sort of skied by myself most of race with picking off more skiers the rest of the race! I am happy with my 26th place considering that is my best international result on snow to date!
Tomorrow is a easy day for me, and I will be watching the Team event on the normal hill as our four best skiers take part. Johnny Spillane, Todd Lodwick, Bill Demong and my brother will be fighting there hearts out to get the first world championship team event medal! Best of luck to them, More updates to come!
