Sun Valley- Boulder Mountain Tour

Hey everyone!
I am now in Sun Valley, Idaho. I am up here for a training race before we leave for World Championships later this month. The Boulder mountain tour is a very challenging race. It is 32 kilometers with a net loss of 1700 ft from start to finish. What makes this race hard is it is challenging to get away from the pack and ski to a win by yourself. I have a couple teammates with me here. Olympic Champion Billy Demong, is the easy favorite for the win, But my brother Bryan is in amazing form and will be a challenge as well. Then there are some of the nations best xc skiers here as well. Mike Sinnot, Matt Gelso, and Colin Rodgers, will for sure push the pace from the start of the race. I look forward to the results as it is a very fast race for the distance, and I feel like this could be a good distance race for me with the majority of the course being on the flat or gradual downhill.

Last night there were some Coed sprints in downtown Ketchum/Sun Valley. I was paired up with Local Junior star Annie Pokorny! The format was very hard, with the men doing two laps of a 200 meter oval, before tagging off to the women. For the qualifiers each person would do the 2x300m twice, and in the finals we would do it three times. I was pumped to see Annie skiing so fast against some of the fastest ladies in the nation. I was stoked for myself to be with in podium range for Annie to work on. Annie and I got 4th just missing out on the podium by a couple inches. Maybe next year!

Stay tuned for more updates and results from this weekend!!!!
